BREAKING: AP projects Wes Moore to win Maryland gubernatorial race

Moore

MARYLAND – Associated Press (AP) has projected that Wes Moore (D) will be reelected as Maryland’s governor following Tuesday’s race.

AP called the race prior to precincts reporting results and prior to any votes being counted. This will be Moore’s second term as governor after assuming office in 2022. He defeated Republican challenger Dan Cox in the general election.

“Maryland, it is the greatest honor of my life to serve as your governor and I am thrilled to continue working alongside Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller to finish what we’ve started and keep building a Maryland that leaves no one behind,” said Governor Wes Moore in a victory message from his campaign. “Tonight, Maryland showed the nation we believe in a better way forward–that in a time where Washington is seeking to divide us, that we will stand united.”
